Three pillars.
One mission.

01
Education
We provide our members with rigorous programming on legal systems, policy processes, and the role of Muslim communities in shaping just governance. Through workshops, panels, and speaker series, we build informed advocates.
02
Mentorship
We connect students with practicing Muslim attorneys, policymakers, and public servants who have navigated the same path. Our mentors provide guidance, networks, and real-world perspective that textbooks cannot offer.
03
Advocacy
We amplify Muslim voices in spaces where they are underrepresented. From campus policy to state legislation, we train our members to engage meaningfully with the systems that shape their communities.

Real students.
Real impact.

From mock trials to speaker panels to movie nights — AMPL is where community meets purpose.

6 chapters.
One UC family.

AMPL operates across the University of California system, bringing together Muslim students who are passionate about law, politics, and public service.

We exist to represent, to lead, and to serve.

AMPL was founded on a simple belief: that Muslim students belong in every courtroom, legislature, and policy room in America.

Born from a need for representation.

The Association of Muslims in Politics and Law was founded by students who saw a gap — Muslim communities profoundly affected by legal and political systems, yet underrepresented in the very institutions that shape them.

Starting at UC San Diego, AMPL grew into a UC-wide network united by a shared commitment to justice, leadership, and the belief that representation is not just symbolic — it changes outcomes.

Skill. Network. Purpose.

We don't just build résumés. We build leaders. Our approach combines practical skill development — legal writing, policy analysis, public speaking — with deep mentorship networks and a clear sense of civic purpose.

Every program we run is designed to produce the next generation of Muslim attorneys, judges, legislators, and advocates who will shape a fairer, more inclusive America.

Core Values

What we stand for.

Justice
We are committed to the pursuit of equitable legal and political systems — not just for Muslims, but for all communities who have been marginalized by unjust structures.
Representation
We believe diverse voices in law and governance produce better outcomes. Our work is about making seats at every table — and keeping them.
Ethical Leadership
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, professional conduct, and civic responsibility in everything we do.
Community
We are stronger together. AMPL is a family across campuses — a network of peers, mentors, and allies who support each other's growth and ambitions.
